What are the things you wish you were better at?
• remembering
• forgiving myself and others for human foibles
•digesting sugar and adapting recipes to myself.
If you were to write a memoir about your life, what would the chapter titles be?
• All That Formative Crap
• 1988: The Last Year Nobody I Loved Had Died
• 1989
• Screaming Into The Void
• Waking Up To Find The Passage Of Time Goes On Without Me
• Finding A Real Friend
• Kiddo’s First Panic Attack
• Shame Gets Murdered In The Face
• Learning to Leave People
• Marriage?
• A Long Strange Trip
• Divorce …
•(???)
I have no idea what the chapter headers and titles would be until afterwards.

Date: 2025-04-13 03:54 am (UTC)I wish I was better at being confident in charging what I'm worth for custom (as in not required for daily living) sewing. My shop isn't glamourous, but I have 30+ years of skill and experience built up. When I pretend I'm an auto mechanic or plumber, it gets easier to value my time.

Date: 2025-04-13 11:28 am (UTC)In the early morning after I posted this, I’m now wondering if I should put the death and near-death experiences as chapter beginnings and endings? 🤔But those are heavily front loaded and mean that I would have to remember all the times it’s happened, which there’s like seven I remember and at some point that shit gets normal, you know? You remember impactful stuff that happened once or twice. After about 5x, that shit gets more and more ho-hum. Oh well. Maybe someday I’ll go spelunking in my memories.
