So for Christmas, Stepdad gave me a head cold, which I might be over by tomorrow or Friday if I’m lucky? I’m upset that he didn’t tell me he was sick until after I spent the 45 minute ride home from the airport in a car with his sniffly self. I could have kept my mask on, but it didn’t occur to him that risking my health was … let’s just say rude. Also he doesn’t cover his mouth when he coughs and sneezes apparently? So gross. I have been hiding in my room most of the time between my Pacific Northwest trip and now, even after he got me sick 🤒 🤧 😾

Ugh, I'm sorry that illness happened. Here's hoping for a better Christmas!

How rude. I hope you feel better soon.

The VNS in the study is implanted directly on the nerve and includes very targeted therapy sessions, not at all like the external vibrators people are putting on their chests in the advertising photos - imo.

Ooh, I'm glad I brought up the mismatch. Darned rejection sensitivity made me worry I'd get push back, even though that wouldn't make sense.
I'm still educating my dad and step-dad about stuff, and their both 86. Whether they integrate the information or not is up to them.

Cheers! I made pumpkin pie and rice pudding yesterday and we have chocolate truffles instead of cookies. It's a bit odd not to have christmas cookies, because my mom and grandma always made so many. Homemade are my favorites, and I didn't want to bake them.

Rude of him. To say the least.

When I was moving up to the college town a slight distance to the north, I had to take the trip with my Dad in a pickup truck (a small one) and a rolltop desk with matching filing cabinet and coat rack along with a 44-space server rack in the back and the artist formerly known as the guide beast between my knees. The unwelcome passenger in the pickup was influenza, but I seem to have a epic-high resistance to it. So the trip seemed, to Dad, like it took seventeen hundred years, while to me it was a normal one; his most frequent comment was to the Guide Beast, "Guardian, we're never going to make it," and so on. He was positive, after the fact, that I was doomed to get sick -- I put his illness out of my mind until he called me half a week later and asked me if I was feeling better. "I never felt worse."
"But you were in the truck with me when I had the flu."
"Okay, and when have I ever had it?" I thought this was a valid question, since he was responsible for my medical care for close to two decades in my past.
"I don't know."
"Dad, I feel fine, I didn't catch it."
"How could you not catch it, you were in the car with me for a while."
I'm glad doofus consciousness isn't heritable.

Glad you're digging into Koyaanisquatsi -- it takes on more meaning from repeat viewing.
