There is ongoing drama among C’s friends, so I guess I have to bother with ranting about C and their delusion that Bat would ever have showed up at their door “drunk and giggling”, with Stupidhead in tow, which is a fear they named, and a thing they literally said on failbook, which I got to hear about from multiple sources. Like, I know this person had met Bat, but how did they not know him enough to know that that would absolutely not go down that way? Like, Stupidhead digging through Bat’s wallet looking for info on C? I could see it, if Bat had ever kept anything like that there instead of in his Fort Knox of a phone (that nobody can even get into even now).
Another friend wants to take a break from me over (I guess?) the part where I’m angry at C and don’t buy into their narrative about being in danger from Bat, who was always way more protective of other people than they were of themselves. But I cannot with this right now, and I’m not going to try to explain to them that I rely on my friends to tell me when I am out of touch with other people’s priorities or what the prevailing social mores are, or how I was supposed to try to police where Bat was putting his crotch, like I had any control over that or any interest in tattling on him to someone who was demonstrably not as good a friend to me and was also as safe as Bat could make them because that was how the Bat would do.
No, instead I’m supposed to believe the person who thinks that Bat would violate someone’s right to go no-contact with their abuser. Which: like hell. Also like this person who had been telling separate and manipulated versions of the truth to Bat and Stupidhead from the beginning of their acquaintance with Bat was capable of being honest with themself and their friend group enough to get me to trust their word over the evidence of my own eyes. Which: no. There are all of five people I put that much trust in and C is not one of them.
