Via flameandsong, I've been given five questions to answer and I'll give the first five commenters their own five questions.

1. What is your favorite kind of candy?

My favorite kind of candy is candy that I can have, so probably Lily’s semi-sweet baking chocolate chips. The sugary candy that I miss most is probably peach gummy penguins. Or those tiny gummy Italian mints that they used to have at nice restaurants in the 80’s. My aunt used to bring me some home from her dates when I was little but i probably haven’t had one in 30 years.

2. Favorite poem?

3. If you could be an animal for a day and then go back to human form, what animal would you be, and why?

A barred owl? An elephant? A house cat! I would like to spend most of a day napping, utterly relaxed, then zoom around a house and jump 5 times my own height. Birds are too high strung for me to enjoy flying, and they have too many natural predators. Elephants have poachers. But these tiny babies are spoiled as hell.

4. Favorite gemstone?

Labradorite and aquamarine are favorites. I used to have a star rose quartz, that was So Freaking Pretty, but I gave it to a friend when he was moving away, bc he needed a reminder that he was cared about more than I needed another shiny thing.

5. Least favorite season, and why?

Winter. It used to be my favorite, too. But now it hurts and saps my spoons. I get less done, am more irritated /short with people, and generally enjoy myself less.

1. You have $2000 that must be spent this month at a full service self care and beauty spa. The have massages, steams, mud baths, facials, hair dressers and a salon, nail techs, makeup and artists, a nutritionist, an electro hair removal tech, they have candles and essential oils, they have vitamins and anything you can think of. What do you spend it on and why? What would you need to reasearch and what is your thought process?

2. What is your favorite outdoors place and what would you do there? A hidden waterfall to hide in? The middle of a wheat field with the Big Sky to stargaze in? A hiking trail lookout point halfway up a mountain? Swinging on your front porch and taking to the neighbors who wander by?

I love winter aesthetically and I used to like cold weather but now my joints hurt and my SAD is an asshole.

Labradorite is also my favorite.

Now that my mom works at Target and they replaced a bunch of the light with those blue-white LED/ fluorescent bulbs her SAD has not acted up nearly as noticeably. Blue light for most people helps your brain to destroy melatonin, but are a special fucking non-24 snowflake, so who fuckin knows.
