I am thinking of selling off about a third of the lolita gear I have accumulated. I told myself I was going to buy 2 dresses and make coords out of them. Now, 8 dresses and 4 skirts later, it is past time to start slowly backing out of engaging so heavily with the fashion. I'm not sure what I will do with the money, but I will find something to do with it that is not "reinvest it in lolita fashion". Maybe I will finally branch out and invest in my masculinity project instead, 3 years later than planned. Get another pageboy haircut in the spring, maybe.

In other news, I kinda want to watch all the different Dune movies and miniseries back to back, and analyze the politics of how they are each presented relative to what was going on at the time of their filming.

I saw an old copy of Dune on my bookshelf and wondered if I should dive into previous material, too. I probably won't, but I must've kept that book around for a reason, right?

Like, as long as you listen to the feelings you get that Paul and Lady Jessica are manipulating people and situations and using their specialness to warp the world around them to fulfill their need for power and vengeance, then they are perfectly good books depicting the beginnings of a cult and the ensuing religious war. I did not get that when I was 7, but now I find the characters fascinating as studies of the games that the powerful of the modern world play with people’s lives.

Yeah, that's the part I kind of want to revisit (or maybe don't want to revisit, exactly, but... would find it interesting) because I read them so young. Not at 7, but at some point in my teenage years.
