Okay, so, true facts. I will probably get COVID-19. And it will be a little worse than having the flu, because I am of a certain age. But it is almost never deadly in your forties, and symptoms do not start creeping into really dangerous territory until you are over 55, have trouble breathing, or immunocompromised.

What I am doing about preventing the spread, is that I am using my massage protocols ALL THE TIME and not just at work. I'm not touching my face with my hands, I scratch my face with my shoulder, I wash my hands to the full chorus of either "Stayin' Alive" or the first Stanza of "The Black Parade", and every day I am gently pressing into the lymph nodes around my ear and just behind/under my jaw to make sure I am not fighting something off. So far so good.

The ones I teach people to push on are the ones in front of the ear, the one just below the ear, and the one just behind the point of the jaw. If you can't feel any difference and there's no pain at gentle pressure, then you're golden. If a lymph node or more than one hurts, you may want to quarantine yourself a few days until it either passes, or becomes an infection and you can cover your nose and mouth and go to a doctor.

I am carrying around my Applejack cosplay bandana to cover my mouth and nose just in case I start feeling unwell, since my whole job is contact with the public.

So yeah, check yourself before you go see your older friends and relatives, or if you work with anyone older or immunocompromised. Maybe buy your folks some raw pumpkin seeds (which contain naturally occurring interferon gamma), with instructions to eat 1/8th a cup a day if they feel under the weather. Other than that, I got no good advice.

Stay soapy, y'all.

Zinc losenges help, too. I woult put one in your mouth and let it melt.

I need to find travel packs of tissues. *sighs* my eyes have protiene deposits that I sometimes need to get off, and using my fingers is not a good idea right now.

Thank you for the reminder of massage protocols...that is actually helpful.

We're all doing what we can, since the King In Orange cut funding to the CDC and fired all the epidemic experts.

Yeah, I've never seen such an idiotic president in the Oval Office. It's rediculous.

Honestly, the hardest part for me is not touching my face. I've chewed my nails for years, and like I know it's a gross, unsanitary habit, but even the Army couldn't get me to stop, and that was a dirty dirty time in my life. *sigh* Wearing polish helps keep me from actively chewing/scraping my nails on my teeth, but I still bring my fingers up to my mouth and touch my nails to my lips all the time, especially when I'm feeling anxious or indecisive about something.
