Am I different on the internet than I am in real life? Quite a few of you know me both ways, and I'd like to know if I come across textually as a different person.
I find most people to be different in written communication versus spoken communication. That said, I don't find you to be so vastly different in person than on the internet, I just find your topics of discussion to be somewhat different. The only other thing is your energy seems slightly subdued on the internet versus in person.
I don't think so at all. But then again, I tend to integrate online interactions mentally as face-to-face interactions. In other words, when I'm reading what you write, I think about what you would mean and how you would say it in person.
It's hard to tell if this is you or me, but not everyone comes across as the same person all the time.
From what I know (and I don't pretend it is much), your moods come off very differently in person, but that may have as much/more to do with when I've seen you IRL. But they are easily reconcilable as one person.
When I read you, I hear your voice in my head and I see you mannerisms and it's like you are here talking to me... it's all I have of you... it is a very poor substitute... but mostly, you are the same in whatever format I find you in... even though I prefer you in person ;)
Yes to the first and yes to the second but only in so much as the online you is more precise, more focused. You have something to say, a topic of interest, or knowledge to share. It's very concise and thought out.
In person, you can gauge reactions, ad lib more, be yourself. As can anyone, so it's not as directed. Like Heidi-Who lite vs Heidi-Who classic.
