Glorious 25th of May
May. 25th, 2008 06:29 pmWHY YES, I WAS THERE. *wears the lilac*
This was Burning Flipside weekend, as well as being the CMA workend, so many of my friends and I have spent the last few days in the heat. And not just regular heat, ASSAULT AND BATTERY HEAT. With the kind of humidity that has a restraining order out on sweat's ability to evaporate.
I now have a faint diamond-shaped sunburn under my arms from underestimating the Sun's ability to stalk me and make me pay for my melanin deficiency. We made a camp! I was one of three INTREPID EXPLORERS who tore trees out by the roots and made a patch of South Texas into a lovely, mesquite-free campsite! We weed-wacked, rock-stacked, pruned, raked, lopped and chopped, planted, seeded, and stacked firewood. We made an altar, a spider-shaped fire pit, and a tiny herb garden. Pics up soon.
Rearranging Nature is very tiring though, so I think I will be off in the land of the Sleepy Conquistadors, playing "We Are The Champions" and napping.

Date: 2008-05-27 12:39 pm (UTC)I would be exuding more pride if we'd gotten to help with the community projects for more than an hour, but we did pay $50 for the privilege of taking care of their land, so I don't feel too bad.
