1. The taste of coffee with cream and cinnamon. Mom used to bribe me awake on cold winter mornings with this, and it's always tasted like comfort and exasperated love.
2-4. Petting fish, wrapping snakes around myself, and gently scratching iguanas and other lizards. The scales feel cool, and the texture is so delicate that it always leads me to wonder at how we creatures are made of such tiny, intricate pieces.
5. Puns, the worse the better. That language has multiple meanings is cool, and that you can make innocent statements into system-crashing badness. I love juxtaposition used as an ironic tool. I think the joy there is that I was taught that life was one thing by television, and that it was totally otherwise by my family. Somewhere in there I had to reconcile a lot of preposterous differences. Conflicting paradigms bring the funny.
6. Mashed potatoes, when they're creamy and squishy.
7. Squishing my toes in cool mud, same reason.
8. Making people laugh. Makes me feel like a better person.
9. Laughing at things. Makes me feel like the world is a better person.
10. Coming up with weird shit. No reason, it appears to be a basic function of my soul. I've always done that, even when I was shallow, before everything.
11. Having people give me the 'you MUST be INSANE' look for sharing those things.
12-15. Proper use of sarcasm, dry wit, snark and gallows humor. Finding comedy in everyday tragedy is awesome. Life is too short and wacked out to be serious about it. FO REAL.
16. Trying out strange new things including but not limited to foods, relationships, social situations, and kinds of sex.
17-20. Massage, yoga, cycling, and hiking. It brings me closer to my body, makes me more aware, more alive.
21. Dancing. Not for the reasons above. It brings me closer to my soul, and the part of me that is made of magic. I have sanctified space and cast circles without using words or props of any kind.
22. Impressionist paintings. When I don't have my glasses on, that's how the world looks to me. There's no sharpness to lines, just light, color, and form. When I was little, before we knew I needed glasses, these were the only paintings I liked, because I thought these people saw the world the way I did. Hmm.
23. PIRATES.
24. Sunsets, rainbows, and all brightly colored things. I think I just like them. Most modern art is depressingly monochromatic, and where there is color it's nonrepresentational. Fmeh. But nothing is more enduring than the night sky, more inclusive than sunset, more available than a rainbow. No museums to wall up beauty are necessary, free as the air they take place in.
25. People. Because they run around like house elves on crack, and I don't feel as alien here as I used to once I realized that you lot have no more idea what you're doing here than I do. Thanks for that; it's a comfort to know.

out of sheer morbid curiosity, what does exasperated love taste like?

Like "custom"!

T-Rex & I share your love (http://www.qwantz.com/archive/001104.html) for multiplicity of meaning

It tastes like the food your loved ones bribe you with to get you t act civilized. It tastes like being rewarded for being a recalcitrant heathen, and like acceptance with a little bit of salt.
