I'm listening to The Cardigans, a euro-chic pop band, covering Black Sabbath's Iron Man. Dear, sweet gods I love this song. I am addicted to the wrongness and can't stop myself. Please tell me the songs and artists of the other songs that I can feed my habit with. I know you all have hidden loves for cracked-out covers and mash-ups and filk, so: OUT WITH IT.

I assume you already have Pat Boone's cover of Crazy Train, but you might want to check through the Jonathan Coulton (http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songs) archives. I was introduced to his music through his bluegrass version of Baby Got Back.

Well, the first that comes to mind is Oingo Boingo doing The Kinks "You Really Got Me." I'll look for the CD. Boingo also did a cover of "I Am the Walrus." Be afraid.

Then there's Nina Hagen covering Rammstein's "Seemann"...

I'm sure I have more lurking around; I just need to find it.

They are the egg men.

You never even burned me the thing with David Bowie and the gnome. :P And I've never heard Rammstein's Seemann, so it mightn't be that funny to me. OOh! I have new stuff to pass along as well, what are you doing on Wotan's-day?

I have a Beastie Boys cover of Elton John's Bennie and the Jets that just makes me stare at my computer. There's also fun stuff like Tori Amos doing Smells Like Teen Spirit, Type O Negative's very wrong remake of Seals & Crofts' Summer Breeze. And Dynamite Hack's Boyz in the Hood and Alien Ant Farm's Smooth Criminal And if you REALLY need to go there, there's always The Gourds and Hayseed Dixie...

These rock my socks

Sepultura's version of Symptom of the Universe is good.

I got to see Rob Halford of Judas Priest sing with Sabathh in '91. He was amazing, and I must say he made a much better vocalist for them than Ozzie ever did lol...

Souxsie and the Banshees version of Helter Skelter is ever so much more interesting than the Beatles...

Of course, almost anything is better than the Beatles in my view, lol...

I liked Marilyn Mansions version of "I Put a Spell on You" alot...

Heidi your color choice on here is painfully unreadable lol...
