So today I went to pick my brother in law up at the hospital from his medical procedure, in order to keep Ghost from having to drive in Dallas, an admittedly hair-raising prospect even for me. And when I got there they still had not even taken him back. And when they did take him back 45 minutes late, it took them another 75 minutes to update me on his status and whether anything had gone wrong, when he is usually out in 25-35 minutes.

It was a very worrisome day, especially as it made me an hour and ten minutes late for work. I had called in and had them reach out to my client and they pushed her back an hour and a half, but between worrying about BIL and Ghost stuff and work stuff, I am a ball of tension. With the headache to show for it, too.

But I had a salad the size of my head, plus some no sugar added ice cream, so I’m at least no longer fiending for crunchy things.

What is the silliest thing you’ve heard this week? I need a laugh.

This afternoon I stepped out on the balcony at work to warm up and all of a sudden heard Orville Peck blaring from, like, my aura or whatever, and flailed around trying to turn my phone off before I realized the music was coming from a car on the street below me. MY BRETHREN.

Sorry, no silly around here. But maybe this will help.

I used to love driving in Dallas, but nobody will let me do that anymore, for some dumb reason.

Where did this cranial-exceeding salad come from, and what was in it? I miss some of my salad sources, and nobody seems to want to hook a blond broad up.

Ngl?

There's a meditation that goes with the music. And yes, that's all mine.

I seriously miss Café Max. I also wish Souper Salads didn't dry up and blow away. When the Greenville Whole Paycheck moved they made a lot of changes to the café, so their salad bar I liked so much didn't survive the move. I suspect my team membership for the café didn't either, but I think my odds (and evens, let's not leave them out, they get so sad and feel neglected) are that I won't do that type of gig ever again.

I was in one of the Souper Salads locations when they were closing (I was a local SFF convention) and they came out with their brand new blueberry bread. I was an instant fan, and I miss it a lot.

That's a lot in the salad, and there are things I wouldn't want. And I refuse to let this conversation make me hungry this late.

The whole Tampon Tim thing has made me laugh, a lot, quite happily, at various rectocranially inverted conservatives. I am trying really hard not to fangirl Tim Walz.

Hmm, interesting question. I’d suggest his earlier albums, Pony and Show Pony (EP). Even if he turns out not to be your thing, try out his cover of “Fancy” on the EP. The original is weirdly upbeat, but his version’s chilling.

A few weeks ago I made a playlist for some new friends, and just found out that when they got to "Purple Hat" by Sofi Tukker, the wife of the couple had a hysterical laughing fit for like a full minute. I feel accomplished.

You have more faith in me than I do in myself, which is balm for my scorched soul. I've recently been castigating myself for fangirling Neil Gaiman, but maybe I should forgive myself. And maybe I can trust Tim Walz, at least enough to smile at his smile, and definitely enough to vote for him.

hugs you gratefully
