flamingswordIt is the Trans Day of Remembrance, the day when we read out the names of those of our siblings who died this year by suicide or murder. It’s a big list.
Cis people: please stop murdering (and massacring) trans people. Please uproot the invisible yardstick that you hold people up to to see if you need to forcibly cut pieces of them off to make them an acceptable size. Please stop deciding you are the arbiter of whether other people -who are harming no one- are experiencing their lives incorrectly.
And when you see rainbow capitalists out there, please tell them to stop tepidly supporting us in word and supporting our enemies in deed, stop repackaging our pain to sell as their product, stop using us to make money off of without materially giving back to our communities. Tell them that it is beyond time to put up or shut up.
