Music and links
Sep. 10th, 2022 04:04 pmWhat are y’all listening to that’s good this week?
I have been listening to music with deep lyrics and lo-fi this week. Lo-fi is so calming, y’all, I want to make a hygge playlist out of warm cozy music, I think.
Trans people got jokes, y'all. Don't believe the haters.
This month’s theme on
fancake is Team As Family, and I feel like I need to get off my butt and drop a million recs. I should do that tomorrow or possibly tonight when I'm done knitting.

https://studentaid.gov/debt-relief-announcement/ Student loan forgiveness stuff I'm researching for a friend.
Skirt I really want to buy because it has The Seine At Lavacour by Monet, one of my favorite paintings on it. I need a million moneys. :/
I have been told that if I want books in the style of Terry Pratchett, that I should try Tanya Huff. Anybody else got suggestions for PTerry-esque books? I am intensely interested in having more politically-aware satire.

What are y’all listening to that’s good this week?
Mainly Elizabeth Sandifer's "Last War In Albion" soundtrack, which is pure nostalgia for me.

Welp, you need to read Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente. More Douglas Adams than Terry Pratchett but definitely funny politically-aware satire with a strong omniscient narrative voice. A washed-up neo-glam musician has to compete in a galactic Eurovision contest to stop aliens from deeming humanity non-sentient and blowing it up.
