Gods, so many things. In fandom I wish I could write the FemDom!Padme Star Wars story, the Star Wars/Witcher XO, and the agender!Steve in Wakanda MCU fic and the Loki&Pepper&Maria Hill buddy cop story I had been planning but had to abandon bc I messed up the narrative tension Both Times. I don’t really have Muses the way other people envision them, I just have under-representation issues and the grit to teach myself to do a largely thankless thing just to increase representation for the underserved.

Apparently I need to teach myself about narrative tension.

In non-fandom stuff, I wish I already knew enough to start interviewing autistic and ADHD people for writing the book. But I can’t hurry my brain through the class or I’ll miss things and mess up building my theoretical schema later, and not get taken seriously.

It sounds like you need less of a specific idea, and more of a wider universe where you can combine the different aspects and things you're interested in into a story (or stories)!

I don't have traditional muses either. I tend to visualise things and then turn that into a story. And now that I think about it, I don't think I have a very good answer for this challenge, lol. :D

I don't even know that my muses are traditional, mostly they're just asspains. ["As you know, that isn't a word..." IT IS NOW OK] I feel like my to-do list exceeds my spoon count and yet here I am continuing to spawn plotbunnies and asking for prompts. [It keeps my brain out of trouble, though, I am far worse if I don't have impending projects.]

ANYWAY one suggestion, and you can totally tell me to shut up because I know this is unsolicited, is you could write the thing and solicit feedback/concrit before you post it from a reader or readers about narrative voice / whatever you think needs tightening up? Maybe? Possibly?

I don't have a great track record with getting in touch with betas who are willing to read 5k+ things outside their fandom, and when I was contacting people about things inside the MCU fandom where I was posting, I mostly got crickets. (Which is weird bc it's a huge fucking fandom!) I try not to bug numb3r_5ev3n about everything I write, bc it feels like presuming on our friendship, so I need to develop some fandom friends in the next fandom I actually write fic for.

If it's over 5k but less than 100k I'm tentatively interested in beta, especially if it's MCU or Star Wars which I am familiar with [with the caveat that my Star Wars interest is more prequel trilogy so if you're asking me to beta a Reylo or Kylux fic I might not want to do that, but frex the femdom Padme/Anakin fic I would beta in a heartbeat].

Y'all're working real hard to get me to write that thing, huh? I will put it on my to -do list for after the class is done, and we'll see if it ever makes it out of my head.

I read chapter one of the Agender!Steve story when I added your DW account (did I leave a kudo? I think I did not. Sorry. This can be another one of my fandom goals; being more consistent with that). Anyway, I liked it and would read more of it, and tentatively offer to beta or bounce ideas around if you return to it and my life is in a place where I can do that justice.

Thank you! I may need to rewrite the last half of the first chapter to make Steve's gender journey part of the longer story, but I'm not sure how to work that out, which is part of why it has been abandoned. But if I ever get the zest back, I am totally going to bug you about it!
