So [livejournal.com profile] hellocobweb said that he might get to DJ for a song or two at the church last night. But that turned out to be about a 45 minute set of songs. Or at least that's all I could stay for, as I had work this morning. Grr.
I wish I'd had a camera. Him hiding out in the DJ booth like no one can see him, lipsynching, nodding to the music with this understated sort of I'm-getting-away-with-it grin was SO FRIKKIN' ADORABLE!!! Tiny baby kittens aren't that cute! (Hurrah. I'm finally free of being 'the cute one' among my friends. I'm passing the tiara on to [livejournal.com profile] hellocobweb.)
I wanted to stay and dance more, but I was tired. And I'm still tired. I'll catch up on sleep tonight, but I wish I had a time-turner so I could go back and dance some more. Mmmm, the Church. Good stuff. The NIN remix could use a bit more bass, if it's competing with the rest of the Church's music. And there should have been more hot guys on the dance floor. Other than that my picky-ass self has no complaints.

So what did you do last night?

That was the version with a -9decibel cut to the bass. Straight out of the computer, it makes my car speakers a-splodey... ^.^

Most of the antics in the DJ booth were pretty much me trying to add some non-existant energy to an otherwise (mostly) dead room. I was having fun -- don't get me wrong on that -- but I was far from the typical cocky bastard DJ on the inside. For the first 3 songs, my hands were shaking so badly I was worried about dropping the CDs... Although a good general rule for DJs is if a song makes you feel like dancing, other people might, too.

I really liked a couple of the songs. Especially the remix of "Mein Teil" and Collide's version of "White Rabbit." And doing the DJ thing is a good way to interact with people without the complications of personal contact. I like that.

(Oh, and you can't pass off the tiara -- it wouldn't look good on me.)
