Addendum to the last post: my brain did NOT bounce back, and i am now in the full swing of depression. It hit hard and it hit fast. If i had not been drinking enough to make blogging seem like a good idea, i would not even be here telling yall this. My coping mechanisms are still working, and I am more functional than ive ever been while this far down, but life is a bit fucked rn, and i am going to cope by buying CBT books and making Ghost work through shit with me, bc we both need to be in thetapy but he wont go.

Was that a run on sentence? Probably. Do i have the spoons to care rn? No. No i do not. Executive dysfunction is a motherfucker.

Learned tonight that i am not the only member of the family to have a non-standard gender, and i am super happy about that. 🤗🤗🤗

That is all that is up with me, but if you have something that happened in your life that i should know about that did not happen within the two week limit on DW, please tell me about it, or link me in the comments? Sorry to have just dropped out on yall.

Depression is the worst. I'll have to take your word on the drink, as I hate absinthe and I looked up White Claw and that also doesn't sound like something that I'd enjoy.

The homemade absinthe that I make is about one quarter as bitter as store bought and has no anise flavor. Making it yourself is a whole different animal.

And yeah, lots of people don't like sparkling water, and White Claw is just sparkling water plus booze.

There's not much you can do other than recommend CBT books if they helped you. I am about to trawl goodreads for that, tho, and then buy some workbooks.

I am in favor of the movies and hangs, but Brian has asked that I not bring people over until he has a handle on the runaway anxiety, which is still happening. We are both depressed as shit rn.

Oh, anise is the problematic ingredient for me. So I might like this.

I have had Incidents with Mike's Hard, and apparently this is similar. So...yeah.

It's less like Mike's Hard lemonade type stuff than like a La Croix sparkling water plus vodka. There is not a malty flavor or anything to disturb the mild fruit flavors. And they are not sweet at all, which I like.

I cut my last back of homemade absinthe with Ouzo, but then I am a weirdo who enjoys anise flavors.

Okay, that actually sounds decent. My problem with Mike's Hard is it tastes like sugary pop.

Yeah I only ever tried the lemonade, and it was a bit too sweet. Also it tasted more like lemon flavoring than like actual lemons? It wasn't unpleasant but I did not love it. Life is too short for subpar booze.

Indeed. It was the first legal drink I ever took, though, when I turned 19 and went up to my friend's cottage and got momentously wasted. I'd had it before that, though I doubt after, given the Unfortunate Intoxication Incidents of that weekend.

Hah, not really.

I did almost become a teenage accident statistic because in addition to the case of legally obtained Mike's Hard, my friend was dating a drug dealer at the time so we had vast quantities of pot and mushrooms, and after a night of debauchery, my other friend and I decided to go canoeing in the lake and got to the middle of it before he informed me that he didn't actually know how to canoe. It's really quite amazing that I survived my teens and early 20s.
