Security consciousness and memes

I am not going to do the meme about my sleep habits, because my real name is on this profile and I am trying to be more security conscious. I am not going to advertise how best to take advantage of times when I may be vulnerable.

I dont do the memes that give out your birthday or mother's maiden name, even though the Equifax hack made it all so much easier for scammers to get that info by simply paying for it. I dont give out lots of kinds of information anymore. I am not yet especially active in unionizing and organizing efforts, but if I dont get my act together, then I never will be. I may need to go through my history and purge a lot of data, just to be on the safe side.

I wish I could feel like I was blowing data security out of proportion, or like I was being paranoid. But they have jailed nonviolent "black identity extremists" under this regime for having unpopular beliefs and owning weapons - two things that are not illegal. What are they going to do to people working to actively collectivise power and undermining their system?

Trump might go down. Robert Mueller is trying his damnedest. But Trump has now stacked the deck on the Supreme Court. So it's still a dangerous game to be a lefty. It always has been. And if
I want to keep myself and others safe, then I need to understand data, how it is generated, and how to safeguard all of ours while still exercising our expression and vulnerability.

And I'm not there yet. But I think I am going to learn how to try.
