I want to be acknowledged and seen as a woman, no trans included. From my era in the trans culture the goal was assimilation into the gender of my heart, not being accepted as trans -- that flies in the face of my identity. Society labeled trans folk as queer because of how our identity conflicted with societal norms, and I want to be freed of any of that -- I'm a broad, and though I don't want others who are both trans and queer to be accepted and not persecuted, that's not for me. So feel free to lobby for this day you desire, but understand that it won't serve me and my situation. I do wonder, however, how many other pre-1993 (meaning pre-world wide web) trans folks are still out there, feeling on the outside yet again.
Not my Thing
