So: if you posted pics of that fuckwit Elon Musk doing the Nazi salute, now is the time to go back and edit in a TRIGGER WARNING for it and put it behind a cut. I’mma be really 🤦 every time I have to see it, and I’m white, okay? Okay. I know we’ve been conditioned to think that “bearing witness” to the bad things in the world is somehow activism and not self-harm, but uh. Yeah, no. The science on this one is pretty well settled and it is not in favor of drinking from the firehose of the world’s misery. So let’s protect each other from that, even if we won’t defend ourselves.

Elon Musk, and other fascists, are going to be spreading that image all over bc they want as many of us and our allies triggered, demoralized, and made useless right now as possible. They’re doing it because they’re vile enough to think that a race war is a good idea. Let’s not have us doing it for misguided reasons like, “well how will people know about it if they don’t see the image shared eleven bajillion times?” They’ll know because we told them there’s a trigger warning and they opted in to click on it.

In other news, I’m going to go back to reading comfort fic, bc that’s how my day is going.
