Sleep and headaches

flamingsword I wonder if all the recent waking up at 4:30-6:30 AM and not being able to go back to sleep is cause for concern? It’s not painsomnia, usually, just plain old “brain won’t shut up”. But it’s really annoying to wake up about twice a week and then have my brain refuse to go back to sleep. It’s like living with a golden retriever in my head.
I think I may have posted about how the neurologist thought that the all-the-time headaches were rebound headaches from taking too many NSAIDS? Well I’ve had two days without a headache in the last three weeks, and they were both when I was on high-dose steroids. And since those steroids lasted for five days, it’s… kinda not great that they came back before the steroids were even done.
The neurologist is trying me on one more week of the steroids, and if that doesn’t fix it then I get to have an MRI. Yay. Being stuck inside the loudest metal tube when you have a headache: what fun. I should see if I can get a vertical MRI to check for chiari malformation and other EDS stuff that only shows up when standing, I guess, if I have to do it anyway.
Ugh. Hope y’all’s oh-god-o’clock is going better than mine.
