It occurred to me today that I would rather resemble my mother than be the most beautiful woman in the world.

And I do resemble her, so that's nice. We should get our picure taken together soon.

Resembles as in features or as in personality?

Me, I don't want either of my mother, and that's pretty sad because I look like her quite a bit. I'm not saying I want to be the most beautiful woman in the world, I couldn't handle that, but I really don't want to look like my mother at all and I certainly don't want any part of her personality.

But even if I/we weren't, I'd still prefer it this way. Sort of like reverse-vicarious living.

It's not just that the universe functions so that we resemble our parents, because my resemblance to Dad is only good in that it makes me look like my half-sister who is also cool, it's that I get to have visible proof that I came from somewhere cool. I like the connection.

Features, definitely. The personality a little, too, but mostly I like looking like someone I think is cool. I'm sorry you look like someone you don't think is cool. :( But soon Keelin will look like you, and then you will share my facial joy! :)
