Some new things, some not

This weekend we drove to Houston (which is not new) and ate fried pickles (which is). They're actually really good, and I hadn't expected that. We went down even though I technically have strep throat because I've had it like eight times so far, and by this point my body knows how to deal with it pretty effectively. I still get it, which is a pain, but I get rid of it easily enough, so not a big deal.
I have proved again that while I suck at videogaming I don't really care. Fine motor coordination continues to elude me as does the will to spend XP on something quite useless to my life. Other people enjoyed Guitar Hero and DDR (new to me), and I enjoyed watching them (not new, also not as kinky as it sounds).
We talked to Marni soberly and at length (new). It was a relief to finally be able to prove that I have equilibrium and grammar that doesn't sound like LOLcatspeak, all jokes about the aggressively inarticulate aside. I bought the (new) Fiona Apple CD Extraordinary Machine and a notebook with the Borders giftcard (old) that someone gave me for Christmas. That's the longest I've ever had a chance to get free books and not done so, mostly because there's not a Borders near here. I have several pieces of information that I did not have before, though the information itself is not new, and I have now seen the Brazos River.
Yay for new things! I hope life is always as entertainingly peripetaiac as this month has been. Other people are really down on change for the sake of change, but I get bored easily. I don't need life to be nice all the time, but I DO need it to be weird. Thanks for an awesome weekend Houston peeps!
