https://bigthink.com/neuropsych/law-reversed-effort/ I have been feeling some kind of way the last few days, ever since I read a thing about what's called handicapitalism, which said that mental illness and disabilities haven't been destigmatized, just monetized. That we get sold a lot of products and things to "fix us", but still run into stigma and taboos talking about even basic access needs for things like psychosis, type 2 diabetes, or borderline personality disorder. And like, in my life I have bought (and bought into) so many different products and ways of thinking, chasing a cure for the ills of society that the neurodivergent, disabled, and mentally ill are made to bear. It's fucked up. I am fucked up about it. So I might take a while to just be for a while after Ghost and I get more stuff worked on. BC I've got some thinking to do.

I get how fucked up things can be — capitalist exploitation of feelings of guilt on our [Disabled people's] part that we ought to be "productive citizens" to justify our existence. I felt the same way for decades till we encountered the Disability Justice movement and had it affirmed again and again that we are enough just as we are.

I'm not surprised police make up the law.. tbh I don't trust police, I've been targeted by them in the past for ridiculous reasons.

I'm a weirdo eccentric, I'm sure they'd love to pin some unjust bullshit on me for the hell of it anyway. (Also sorry for the ramble lmao)

It is super shitty that you got harassment and prejudice for being related to someone, and especially someone who has a constitutional right to sass the police for being the way they are. They were proving your uncle right by treating you unjustly.
Re: ACAB
Yep. The charges never show up on background checks but I had to pay $1000 and I still have like… anxiety about the incident.
