In other news, I am archiving my works onto Squidgeworld, in case AO3 suddenly disappears for being in violation of international law and unable to moderate effectively with the current abuse and legal team fuckery.

Fucks sake, the AO3 stuff gets more and more depressing. It’s got too big for what it is, I think, and they haven’t worked out how to move with its size, which is really fucking important. And of all the things I don’t have spoons for, that is so one.

There is, weirdly enough, more hope for AO3 and the OTW as institutions because all of this scrutiny is on them to update their front end + back end systems than there would be if we didn't know about it. The fact that it was formed by fandom is both a failing AND a saving grace, because fandom is BIG and DIVERSE and AMAZING!

Don't lose hope: we can do this!

I am grabbing an ID and backing stuff up at Squidgeworld for just-in-case, but that doesn't mean that I and other people are not really invested in saving the OTW and AO3.
