various life happenings
I'm taking Continuing Education Unit courses to renew my massage license, and this year I'm branching out into Manual Lymph Drainage because one of the other courses I took on Long COVID said that MLD helps with brain fog and possibly also with clearing viral particles and partially-digested microclots from the inter-cellular/interstitial fluid. We'll see how this goes. I'm going to try to go back to work for ten massage hours a week and see if I can recondition up to twelve or fifteen. *crosses fingers*
This weekend I will be driving out to west Texas, meeting Ghost's daughter whom he has not seen since she was 3 (long story), and possibly seeing his dad for the last time. :'( His health has not been great, and keeps taking turns for the worse. Ghost is worried and not sure what to do about this, but I got a second one of the end-of-life planners that I got for my mom last month, so that his mom and dad and I can start going through paperwork this weekend and organizing things for the eventuality of the worst happening. D':
In better news, the Bachelor's Grove knock-off I made for some of my friends has all been handed out now, as well as the homemade bluebonnet absinthe, which Bat loved. I made the Demeter scents "Glue" freebie I got into something that smells sweet like almonds, like over-ripe apples, and vaguely of jet fuel instead of glue somehow? Either way, I like it, and will be keeping and wearing it (as long as it doesn't attract mosquitos, that is, which is always a worry down here what with the Zika virus, West Nile, etc. being so highly transmissible in the summers). I may just have to wait 'til Fall to wear it.
Ghost has been playing the second Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game and absolutely loving it and I'm hoping that this will be enough to help pull him out of the depression he has been in for a couple of years now. *fingers still crossed, crosses toes*
And I will be headed out of town to my uncle's memorial service in the Carolinas with my mom and stepdad at the end of May, then coming home and getting my old job back in early June, if possible. I will probably be driving the day of my birthyday, so if anyone has well-wishes for that, I will respond when I'm back in Dallas and not a passed-out pile of road-rattled bones.
Y'all have fun, okay?

I hope the memorial goes as well as it can?

-awkward noises of not knowing what to say about Ghost's dad besides "I'm sorry"-
Thank you for the heads up with the Carolinas trip late this month. Will you be available via e-mail, even if only briefly?

Yeah, I don’t know what to say about Ghosts dad either. I’m going to put some thought into that on the drive out west, I guess. My general online expression of “I grieve with thee” is … probably not gonna fly with people who watched the original series of Star Trek in its initial broadcasting. They’re nerds, but they aren’t fans, so they might be offended instead of comforted, and that is the last thing I fucking want, you know?
Anyway. I will be available by email intermittently in late May/early June, and I should have a better idea of when as the date approaches.

branching out into Manual Lymph Drainage
Thanks again for the link to that planner. I think I will get two of them (for me and for J) and then we can use those pages to guide us. I will, however, need to think of a good place to hide them from possible thieves so that those thieves can't get at our passwords and stuff--but a place that is also easy to find for our loved ones in case of need. Then I would tell our loved ones where the binders are.
ETA: just ordered two of said planners.
