She was Queen of Naboo when she was still a teenager, now she’s 10 years older, has been a senator for 5 years, and displays all of the agency … until George Lucas needs her to be helpless to make his tragedy happen, because he can’t stand to come up with a better idea than to make her carry the Idiot Ball?
