I don't have any new hyperfixations. There's not enough time, lol! But here are five characters who give me feels. In the order I think of them, not the magnitude of feels. Also, not an exhaustive list. *g*

That looks so cool! I don't watch much TV but I am a sucker for song and dance movies. Is it at all the same?

Not really? It's about a basketball team and their dance squad. They both get equal time, I'd say, and you do see them doing some routines, but it's not what I'd call a dance show.

Aww. The trailer I saw made it look like a fierce dance-off a la Bring It On, but with more inter-team drama, which I must admit sounds like what I would be watching the next really bad body day.

TBF, I only started watching with s2, because that's where my interest lay. (I was looking for fanvids for pairing A and kept seeing fanvids for pairing B in this fandom I'd never heard of, and finally gave in and watched them. Their story starts in s2, so I ignored s1.) There might be more of the dance routines in s1. As far as I can tell, though, it's more about the backstabbing. *g*

I just got my new cooking ingredients: a bottle of Blood Orange Cordial and 6 different, very historic-style bitters from the Wanderer list. :D I'm planning to try them out in things like shortbread. (Imagine a flavoring like a much more complex vanilla extract.) I know that woodsy and resinous flavors can work in shortbread because of the rosemary ones that appear in Christmas cookie lists.

We made Lemon Lavender Shortbreads for Thanksgiving that were still great halfway to Yule. And my friend Ruby brought Black Pepper Cardamom Cookies with Cognac Glaze that were also excellent. Definitely cookies for adult palates. I imagine if you subbed in that Masala spice bitter mentioned above for the vanilla extract, you would get an even more amazing cookie.

I'm happy I could help. Yeah, for anyone who likes mixing drinks -- alcoholic or nonalcoholic -- the rise of craft bitters is absolutely worth exploring. Especially with the Flowers, I'd look for floral tonic water. I've seen it with elderflower and such.

I've heard of those, though I'm not a fan of lavender myself.

I've had black pepper cardamom chocolate truffles that were quite good.

Good idea. *ponder* The Garam Masala bitter would probably work great in snickerdoodles or other spice cookies, but I don't have that one yet.

I'm not much a fan of lavender as a smell or a tea, but as a flavor in cookies it is apparently acceptable? It tastes more like rosemary or like the smell of pine? I don't know, I'm chalking it up to high-temp cooking alchemy.

To me, lavender is one of the things that tastes like soap. :P I like some other florals, though -- rose and jasmine are favorites. And I've made flower salad.

Cinnamon Orange Rose Shortbreads sound like they would be an amazing summer cookie, but you'd need some sort of rose reduction, or to mix a couple drops of rose essential oil into the butter to get enough flavor to stand up to the orange and cinnamon. Plus, if you're cooking at high temps, the terpenes that people with scent sensitivities react to would all bake out, so it would become foodsafe. And your house would smell fantastic. Hmmmm. Now I want to try that.

Cardamom and rose are often combined in Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine, which is where I picked up the taste. Usually that involves rosewater, occasionally rosepetals or some other form. I've tried rose syrup but found it overwhelming and soapy. :P Rosewater is more scent and texture than taste.
