flamingsword: “in my defense, I was left unsupervised” (Default)

It's impressive what one night of poor sleep and an all-day headache can do to you when you're depressed. Last week was better, and I'd thought i was on the upswing. I had motivation in the mornings and things were funny again, and now I'm back at low ebb.

It occurs to me that none of my hobbies directly benefit my life. I should trade out beadwork for making things i actually use. Or maybe study materials science and take up designing sustainable ways to reseed trees and keep them alive the crucial first two years. Or something. I feel useless to myself, disappointed in what I've accomplished so far. Mrr.

If we could program ourselves to be extremely beneficial, we'd be robots. While this sounds really awesome and gives us longer lifespans by increasing our our durableness by 10 skill points at least, it also cuts back our coolness and geekiness by 20 skill points. The point is, don't worry about being useful; worry about not living and loving your life. You only get the one; unless you're Scott Pilgrim, in which case, loan me some lives please? :P :) Also, you're awesome! :D
