Friday before last I was introduced to tequila by [livejournal.com profile] jenndoesntblog, and since then when I say that I like the taste of it and look forward to buying some eventually, everyone seems to think that's ominous. Would anyone care to explain why? Answers have been vague . . .

Tequila plus "peoples like us"... well results may vary, but they usually range from violently psychotic to OMG! Did I really sleep with them? Twice?

I'm socially acontextual. I don't really care whether something is supposed to work like that or whether something is 'a girl's drink', 'menswear', or 'authentic'. And thus I don't really have a 'people like us' that I apply to myself as a social normative. And why does everyone else think that I'm subject to the out-of-character actions? Most of you have seen me drunk, and I'm just . . . louder. And I talk a little slower.

I think other people have a reaction to alcohol that may not be just a disinhibitor, but that also shuts down specific reasoning processes about future values and consequences of their actions. And I don't get that. And now I feel all awkward and alien again.
