the House of Weird

I consider about a third of you my family, you know. And if I were to change my name some day, I'd want to change it to a name we could all have, make you all my wives and sisters, make you brothers and lovers and cousins here. As my family of choice, I want more of you to meet each other, to share your lovability with people who are most capable of relating to you. As myself I want to lure more of you away from the families you don't feel related to and bring you here to my metropolitan suburb to be the clan I always wished my families could be.

It's going to be involved and complicated, starting a family this way with no marriages or births. There will be drama and uncertainty, but a big enough family will always have drama because they always have something new going on to be uncertain about.

I would like a last name like Weird, or Strange. Or possibly Skywalker, because if I have to be quiet about being a geek, what's the point? What would you like our last name to be, you, my family of choice? We all can have a say in these rules we have yet to write.

How about Tardis? And I say that as someone who isn't even a proper Who fan.

Or we could look up forty-two in Klingon, I bet that word has an awesome sound to it.

Shishkabob. They're yummy.

I want TARDIS, Skywalker or Weird. (Can a name be all caps? This I wonder.) I've always kinda wanted a lot of husband types, like polyandry in the animal world only no fighting. Because why should men get all the fun?

Can second you on the big family always having drama, I have 5 aunts and uncles, each has two to 5 kids, and add on to that husbands and kids. We all get together and omg the fights start. Three to five days of akon/scarby like craziness, nutty as hell but gods i love it and look forward to the next get together about a month after the last one.

Would you change your last name to Shiskabob? Yeah, neither would I. Also it would still be a hassle to sign on documents, and add syllable to my name.

I could handle Skywalker, but only for the geek vanity points. Shishkabobs are tasty, but not nearly that cool.

Tardis would be okay, but it would be easy to make fun of if anyone DID wind up having kids. 'Re-Tardis' springs instantly to mind.

But if I changed my name to Heidi Who, that might get points from the WHO/Torchwood fans AND earn Dr. Seuss points. Can I call you Lindy-Lu Who?

I'm now thinking WHO as a last name. And then someone has to get a PhD. :D

Any PhD will do, if you want to be Dr. Who! We can also start a Who-ville, it should go over well at Christmastime.

There's more than that already, I thought. Isn't there one for kids with a robot dog?

[identity profile] elucreh.livejournal.com 2009-04-22 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be fun.

I still have a soft spot for the meaning of life geekery test, though. *G*

I vote against Strange, I already dated a girl who was all over that persona, and while sure it was hot at the time, limited room for growth.

Skywalker is about as far from bad as it possible to get and I could work it in as a 3rd last name easier then "Who" :-D
